Fake: Kyiv wants to provoke a nuclear conflict

"Ukraine wants to create an incident that will lead to a nuclear escalation in order to engage the power of the United States. And the emergence of nuclear weapons in Ukraine will be perceived by moscow as a "red line". Alan Freeman, an analyst at the Institute for the Study of Geopolitical Economy at the University of Manitoba in Canada, told russian media.

The truth is that this statement is a continuation of the kremlin's propaganda campaign to stir up "nuclear hysteria" and intimidate the international community in order to stop further support for Ukraine by Western countries. Ukraine has officially repeatedly stressed that it does not possess, develop or intend to develop nuclear weapons. All of these and similar allegations of ‘attempts to provoke a nuclear conflict’ are spread exclusively by russia and its "bought experts" to justify moscow's escalation.
The option of the United States transferring nuclear weapons to Ukraine is completely unrealistic, as in 1969, America joined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), pledging not to transfer nuclear weapons to countries that do not have them. We also recall that Ukraine is fully transparent for IAEA monitoring, which excludes the use of nuclear materials from reactors for military purposes. Instead, it was russia that transferred nuclear weapons to Belarus in 2024 through an agreement with dictator Lukashenko, and is also helping to develop the nuclear capabilities of another dictatorial regime, Iran.
