Kremlin propaganda, Doug Bandow, russian narratives, Third World War
A lie: no one is interested in continuing hostilities, except for arms manufacturers in the United States and other countries. the russian-Ukrainian "conflict" risks going beyond the scope and turning into a world nuclear war. These words of American political commentator Doug Bandow are repeated by kremlin propagandists.
The truth: the narrative about "russia's invincibility" is one of the central ones in Moscow's propaganda. After the failed takeover of Ukraine in 2022, this narrative is used to demoralize Ukrainians and Ukraine's Western allies. His goal is to sow hopelessness and despair, since resisting russia is allegedly futile and "moscow will still achieve its goal."
Bendow's statements are readily reproduced by the pro-russian mass media. As for the USA, Bandow has a mixed reputation there. Yes, back in 2005 he was fired from the Cato Institute: as it turned out, he had been taking money from lobbyists for the publication of certain articles for ten years. In addition, he willingly relays russian narratives. For example, as early as May 2022, he stated that Ukraine's victory was impossible, and already in the summer of 2022 he called for an end to any support for Ukraine, and also accused the USA and the EU of provoking russia's military aggression.
Provoking russia to war is a key message of russian propaganda, with which they try to justify their genocidal policy and crimes, as well as ignoring numerous international agreements and the UN charter, among others. Just what kind of provocations from the West can we be talking about when the kremlin unilaterally seized the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in 2014 by raising an army and occupied the eastern regions of Ukraine? And a little later, russia signed the Minsk agreements, according to which it undertook not to extend the occupation of Ukrainian territories further, but to work together with the leaders of the West to resolve the Ukrainian-russian conflict. But it turned out that in fact the kremlin used these agreements to accumulate military potential for the complete capture of Ukraine and the Baltic countries, but the putin regime broke all its power against the heroic Ukrainian resistance.
Supporting Ukraine today means stopping the spread of the criminal russian dictatorship (racism) throughout the world. Let's unite! Let's act!
