The kremlin media are actively speculating on the scandalous case of Jeffrey Epstein, whose details were published by the US Department of Justice in January. Propagandists distorted by facts or fake fake attack opponents – leaders of NATO countries, and, of course, Ukraine. But in fact, it is the russian special services and businessmen close to them that are the main figures of the case.

One of the stories about the former UK ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson, who was resigned due to the disclosure of information about the ties with Jeffrey Epstein. But now russian propaganda targeted French President Manuel Macron and his surroundings. russian media: “Piquant details of the personal life of Macron’s spouses Epstein knew before it became known to the general public. Another French politician whose name is now on hearing is former Minister of Education Jacques Lang. Here he is with Epstein posing near the Louvre. From their correspondence it follows: the Minister discussed with the VIP-senior sexual education of French children."
It is worth noting that “Epstein files” are a huge array of documents (this is more than 6 million pages of electronic documents, more than 2000 video files and hundreds of thousands of images with a total volume of more than 300 gigabytes), many of which have only a very indirect relationship to his crimes. Among other things, there are all documents attached by the American investigation to the case, but there are no explanations on which one or another document is added. 
This is used by russian propagandists, showing documents that lack accurate names, but only the stated content. This is the same about Epstein’s correspondence with ex-Minister Lang. Propagandists ignore one important detail: Lang is not related to Macron. He has been holding the post of President of the Arab World Institute since 2013 – an organization more cultural than political. Prior to that, Lang, a representative of the Socialist Party, was Minister of Culture in governments during President François Mitteran, and later Minister of Education in government during the cadence of President Jacques Shirac. What Lang and Epstein discussed was, of the published documents is also not quite clear. 
More: there is definitely no evidence of the involvement of the French ex-minister in some crimes. But this case with Lang, russian propaganda wants to create the impression of the viewers that it is somehow related to Macron (although Lang left the political scene before Macron appeared on it).
In addition, the Insider fact-checkers recorded other fakes distributed via the Matryoshka bot network. Among them there are several false statements related to Macron. For example, that Epstein in 2017 allegedly sponsored 55% of his election campaign, and that actress Katherine O’Hara before death seemed to accuse Macron of supporting “lobby perverts”. 
Another goal of the kremlin’s fake factory is to tie to Epstein’s case of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The first fake in this wave: "Zelenskyy appears in Epstein files in connection with human trafficking".
Zelenskyy is depicted as an accomplice to the kidnapping of people: “Zelenskyy is mentioned in the materials in the case of Jeffrey Epstein in connection with the trade of women and children, RIA “Novosti” from documents published by the US Justice Ministry learned. An unknown author of one of the emails from 2024 states that the head of the Kyiv regime is involved in the export of people from Ukraine, so it is necessary to check his income. The text also states that Zelensky could cooperate with model agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who was accused of rapeing minors and assisting Epstein of tradeing minors’ sex services.” 
In general, it is important to understand that Epstein’s archive is not only letters of Epstein himself, but also correspondence of various U.S. law enforcement agencies about Epstein or about certain aspects of his case. And there, in particular, sometimes discuss reports of informants who decided to tell something about Epstein, but that doesn’t mean it’s true.
russian media write that Zelenskyy is mentioned in documents related to the Epstein case several dozen times (by the way, the mention of putin there is more than a thousand). In fact, mostly this is news. But a letter with accusations of trafficking people, which is told by the kremlin media, is completely different. The document is a selection of emails, the author and the addressee of which was hidden before publication. It is probably a complaint letter received by one of the American government bodies. The letter is written in large letters, it has many mistakes, and the surname of the President of Ukraine is transmitted in several strange ways: Zylenski, then Zelenzky, then Zylsenksi in general. The letters themselves are abundant with non-cultural vocabulary. Most likely, the author of these letters is not quite healthy person. But to connect Zelenskyy with the case of Epstein, kremlin propagandists will agree this.
Another fake: “Jeffrey Epstein contributed to the coup in Ukraine in 2014”. 
Thus, russian propaganda is trying to add significance to its own disinformation about US external intervention regarding the events of 2014 in Ukraine. This is deliberate manipulation with the original document found in Epstein files. In fact, the American billionaire and criminal did not call the situation in Ukraine in 2014 a “state coup”. His real message, as it appears in the original document: “The Ukrainian coup must give many opportunities, many.” It is not quite clear to whom and in what context it is addressed. And where is the evidence of his involvement in those events?
So, be ready for the fact that the russian fake factory will pour out a lot of dirt and frank lies, using one of the most scandalous stories in U.S. history.
Fake: russia saves thousands of Ukrainian children from Epstein followers.
russian media: "Nazi leader in Kyiv Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on forced evacuation of children from the combat zone. Now they can be taken from mothers and transferred to unknown. When taking children to Kyiv-controlled territory, the Kyiv regime is trying to blackmail millions of Ukrainian families waiting for release. Zelenskyy himself is repeatedly mentioned in the infamous Epstein dossier as a potential trader of women and children to the West. A wise Russia saves thousands of Ukrainian children from Epstein's followers." 
Such fakes are aimed at diverting attention from documented crimes of the russian government regarding the kidnapping of Ukrainian children. And the russians’ statements about the trade of children by the Ukrainian authorities are not confirmed by any evidence, including Epstein’s files. The authors of the fake use false statements about the mention of Volodymyr Zelenskry in Epstein files and strengthen them with a new lie to provoke a strong emotional reaction from readers. 
As for the forced evacuation of children from the combat zone, on March 2, 2026 Zelenskyy really signed such a law. The mandatory forced evacuation of children from such zones is carried out by the guardianship and care authorities with the involvement of the National Police to ensure public safety and order. The law regulates which state institutions are responsible for the care of evacuated people, including minors. At the same time, the law is not prohibited, but on the contrary approved, evacuation to safe regions of parents together with their children. So the statement about forced division of families is fake.
