Fake: the attempt on Fico was ordered by Ukraine

Robert Fico, the attempt on Fico

An extraordinary event took place in Slovakia - an attempt on the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico. This is a new round of destabilization in Europe, in which the Kremlin's fairy-tales immediately saw a "Ukrainian footprint" after a few hours.

The assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Fico is an unconditional act of terrorism. This crime was immediately condemned by Volodymyr Zelenskyi: "Ukraine strongly condemns the act of violence against the leader of a neighboring partner state. Ukraine stands in solidarity with the people of Slovakia. We wish Robert Fico a speedy recovery from his injury and return to his duties as head of government."
Pro-Russian media quickly began to reproduce the version that the attack on Fico was ordered in Ukraine. The motives of the Russians' accusations are clear: the public political position of the Prime Minister of Slovakia regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war is really the opposite of Kyiv's position. But this is definitely not a reason to commit such a brazen crime in the best traditions of terrorist fanatics. And the main thing is that there is no significant meaning in this. And it seems somehow strange that an hour after the attack, Russia names the customer - the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov.
Truth: Slovak law enforcement officers detained the alleged attacker - he turned out to be 71-year-old writer Juraj Tsintula, who legally owned a weapon. In a video after his arrest, he stated that the assassination was politically motivated — dissatisfaction with the policies of the Fico government, particularly its efforts against independent media. The shooting happened on a day when the parliament began debating the government's proposal to liquidate Slovakia's public broadcaster RTVS. In recent weeks, thousands of Slovaks have protested against the proposed reform of the public broadcaster.
We support calls for an end to cynical speculations about tragedies, as well as for the neutralization of yet another attempt by the Russians to tie Ukraine to all world problems.
