The news story that is spreading on social networks is falsified, and the very story about the fraudsters from Ukraine is made up. The Times of Israel website did not publish such stories on its website or in its social networks.

A falsified report, allegedly made by the well-known Israeli publication The Times of Israel, is circulating on the Internet. It says that over the course of 4 months, Israeli citizens allegedly donated $80 million to Ukrainian fraudsters, thinking they were helping the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The video claims that fraudsters on behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Defense solicited funds for additional equipment for Israeli army soldiers participating in an operation in the Gaza Strip.
This plot is a complete fake. The journalists of StopFake.org reviewed the latest publications of The Times of Israel, which refer to Ukraine, but did not find any mention of such a fact of fraud. There is no such video on the publication's official platforms. This news is spread exclusively by pro-russian Telegram channels and some Facebook users. This proves that the whole story was made up by the kremlin's "factory of fakes".
To give the fake video a more authentic look, the attackers used the logo of The Times of Israel. It should be noted that the information presented in this video has nothing to do with the reports published by The Times of Israel on social media. This fake video consists entirely of stills and video clips taken from free stocks.
The design of the "video story" also betrays a fake. The Times of Israel does not use the font seen in the video. Also, at the end of video reports, The Times of Israel places the name of the media company, a link to the site, and also indicates the author of the video. This information is missing from the fake video.
