Fake: Ukraine is preparing new attacks using drones on European oil facilities

russian special services are promoting a video about Ukraine's alleged preparations for attacks using drones on oil refineries in Europe: Hungary, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. To make the fake news seem more credible, they are trying to attribute the video to the Ukrainian organisation C14. And to spread it in the Ukrainian media space.

This is a lie! Ukraine has nothing to do with this video! The head of the C14 organisation, Yevhen Karas, also confirmed the video's falsity in a comment to the Centre for Strategic Communications.
The ‘announcements’ of strikes in the video are part of a russian information and psychological operation. Its goal is to:– sow distrust between Ukraine and its European partners;– create the illusion of a threat to EU countries from Ukraine;– play into the hands of pro-russian forces in Europe ahead of elections in certain countries – disrupt or weaken support for Ukraine.
Let us recall that in September, a fire broke out at one of Romania's oil refineries, which is owned by the russian company Gazprom. The russians created fake news on this topic and accused Ukraine and NATO of deliberately carrying out the ‘strike'. Now they are trying to develop this ‘problem’ through controlled media and propagandists.
In addition, the kremlin is simultaneously promoting disinformation that Ukraine, with the support of NATO, is planning a nuclear provocation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which has been occupied by the russian army since 2022. russian media outlets are reporting: ‘Ukraine is preparing a sabotage operation at the ZNPP with NATO support in order to change the course of the war, and Chatham House has already calculated the consequences of the accident and will help blame russia.’ The fake news was simultaneously disseminated by russia's foreign intelligence service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and leading kremlin media outlets. And this is no coincidence. moscow is ‘mining’ the information space in advance so that in the event of a real incident at the ZNPP, it can shift the blame onto Ukraine.
The risk of an accident exists, but it is caused by the actions of the occupiers: russia is trying to connect the station to its own power grid and start reactors without proper cooling and without a licence. In addition, since 2022, the russian military has been placing military equipment and ammunition on the territory of the ZNPP, as well as firing from there at the positions of the Ukrainian army. This poses a real threat not only to Ukraine, but to the whole world, since in the event of a nuclear explosion, the consequences are unpredictable even 1,000 km from the epicentre of the event.
