US President Donald Trump. russia ukraine war. russian propaganda
This thesis, with a reference to a column in The American Conservative, is being replicated by the kremlin media. In fact, the author of the column in The American Conservative, Patrick Casey, is known in the US as the former leader of the neo-Nazi group Identity Evropa, which promoted the idea of white supremacy and glorified Nazi Germany.
After his activities were exposed in 2019, he simply renamed the organization the “American Identity Movement,” retaining the same ideology and structure, The Insider investigators investigated this case: https://theins.ru/antifake/283764
The group rebranded racist and anti-Semitic ideas under more “acceptable” slogans, tried to influence the Republican Party and the media, and used political crises to promote an “identitarian” regime exclusively for whites.During the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, the structure doxed [distributed personal information] activists and created fake accounts to discredit opponents.
In addition, The American Conservative, where Casey’s column was published, is known for publishing materials by pro-kremlin authors and dubious “experts.”
So the thesis of “inevitable russian victory” is not an analytical conclusion, but a propaganda message promoted by far-right radicals, using russian narratives to justify aggression against Ukraine. As for active negotiations on a “peace agreement” between Ukraine and russia, the US president really wants a quick result. In his speeches, he emphasizes that Ukrainians must make difficult decisions regarding the lost territories and end the war.
russian dictator putin, in a personal conversation with Donald Trump, allegedly expressed his readiness to end the conflict. But the President of Ukraine and the leaders of the EU countries emphasize that the so-called peace agreement must contain fair conditions for Ukrainians, who are victims in this conflict, because this is a matter of security for the entire continent. The aggressor should not receive a reward in the form of “legitimization” of his crimes. It is not yet known what concessions the kremlin is ready to make, but as for the US, we still do not see the promised pressure on moscow (in the form of new sanctions and new weapons for the Ukrainian defense forces) for dragging out the war and ignoring Donald Trump’s diplomatic efforts.
The russian leadership deliberately avoids direct answers, constantly sets new conditions, portrays readiness to resolve the war (while the brutal shelling of Ukraine does not stop for a day). Their goal is to postpone or cancel a possible “strike” from Washington on their economy and military capabilities. All intelligence data and the real picture on the battlefield confirm the active regrouping of the russian army and preparation for new offensive operations. Nevertheless, the Ukrainians are stubbornly defending themselves. Over the past year, russia has been able to capture about 1% of the territory of Ukraine, while losses in soldiers and equipment exceed the indicators of previous years.
So the narrative of "russia's inevitable victory" is nothing more than a myth invented by propaganda. On the other hand, it is the kremlin that still lacks the desire to actually end the war.
