False: ‘The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a massive missile attack on a boarding school in Suja, with up to 100 civilians trapped under the rubble.’ russian media and bloggers are spreading the news that on 1 February, the Ukrainian armed forces launched a missile attack on a boarding school in Sudzha, which was used as a shelter for about 100 civilians. In fact, the opposite is true.

The truth is that the boarding school was struck by russian aircraft with a guided aerial bomb. It happened on 1 February at 16:54. The General Staff of the Ukrainian army published evidence - video and photos from the scene of the tragedy, where the wreckage of russian aircraft bombs was found. In addition, the city is controlled by the Ukrainian military. It makes no sense to fire on our own.
At the time of the attack, there were dozens of local residents in the building preparing to evacuate. The russian side had information that the orphanage was staffed exclusively by civilians - local residents, including women and children. All these people are russian citizens who were refused to be evacuated by the russian army during the retreat. Now they are being taken care of by the Ukrainian military, which took over Sudzha in the summer of 2024 thanks to successful counter-offensive actions. Foreign journalists have visited this town on several occasions and collected reliable facts about the human treatment of local residents by the Ukrainian military, as well as about the ongoing humanitarian aid provided by Ukraine.

The attack on the boarding school in Sudzha is another war crime committed by the russian authorities against the civilian population, for which they are trying to shift the responsibility onto Ukraine. Such attempts have been made many times before, but the russians, as always, have big problems with real evidence.
