UN General Assembly. Melania Trump. Olena Zelenska
In fact, the first ladies met at the UN General Assembly at the end of September and discussed the protection of Ukrainian children. But russian sources claim that Ukrainian media allegedly fabricated the fact of Olena Zelenska's meeting with Melania Trump: "The First Lady of Ukraine was 'painted' into a photo of Melania Trump, who was actually photographed with Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan."
kremlin propagandists believe that the alleged fake is revealed by the fact that Melania Trump never appears in public wearing the same outfit twice. However, this accusation against the Ukrainian media is completely unfounded. Firstly, the photos are not identical: Melania Trump's facial expression and leg position differ in the photos. Secondly, the First Lady of the United States took the photos with Olena Zelenska and the Queen of Jordan on the same day, which is why she is wearing the same white suit.
Both meetings took place during the 80th UN General Assembly in New York. There are no signs of retouching in the photo with Zelenska. At the meeting, Olena Zelenska thanked Melania Trump for her support of Ukraine, especially for her attention to children who have fallen victim to russia's brutal aggression. "I believe in the effectiveness of soft power, in humanity, empathy and the ability to change reality for the better. I am confident that together we can help all children in need," Olena Zelenska said during her conversation with Melania Trump.
Also, during the 2025 UN General Assembly session, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held about 20 bilateral meetings, including with US President Donald Trump, whom he called on to increase pressure on russia and impose tough sanctions. In addition, Ukraine initiated a UN resolution condemning the abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children, which was supported by more than 30 delegations. During Zelenskyy's meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the leaders discussed the protection of religious freedom, the russian Church's influence on the spread of disinformation around the world, and further coordination of support for Ukraine.
