One of the kremlin's plans, if it fails to capture the entire country, is to negotiate with Western leaders to divide Ukraine with 7 regions under russian control. But Keith Kellogg never actually said that. 

The truth is: Keith Kellogg personally denied (https://x.com/generalkellogg/status/1910811346251268305?s=46) this journalistic ‘sensation’. According to him, he did not propose the division of Ukraine, but spoke about the possible structure of an allied peacekeeping force after the ceasefire. "The Times article distorts my words. I was talking about a post-ceasefire stability force that would support Ukraine's sovereignty. When I talked about “division”, I meant sectors or areas of responsibility for allied forces (without US troops). I was NOT referring to the division of Ukraine," Keith Kellogg wrote on his X network page.

The truth is: Ukraine has been a sovereign and independent state since 1991. The Constitution, adopted by the Parliament on 28 June 1996, enshrines the democratic will of the Ukrainian people, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the rule of law. After the dismantling of the Soviet Union, Ukraine's borders were recognised through several international agreements, including the agreement between Ukraine and the russian Federation on the Ukrainian-russian border. In addition, according to the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, russia guaranteed Ukraine's territorial integrity in exchange for all nuclear capabilities.

Ukraine has also gathered broad international support to assist in its fight against russian aggression. The EU's military and financial assistance to Ukraine is aimed at helping a sovereign nation defend itself against invasion. To call Ukraine's defensive actions an obstacle to peace is to distort reality, as russia is the aggressor and is launching an armed attack on a sovereign state. 
Ukraine has agreed to launch the process of preparing peace talks and ending the war, but on the basis of justice and existing international norms. After talks with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia in March this year, Kyiv agreed to an immediate 30-day ceasefire proposed by Washington. But moscow did not accept this idea and put forward counter-conditions. In order to force moscow to take the same step, the world must increase pressure on russia and at the same time strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities.
