Generating fakes about possible peace talks is part of Russia's pressure on Western leaders

negotiations usa russia. Russia-Ukraine talks. trump's plan for ukraine. Russian propaganda

While everyone is actively commenting on possible peace talks between russia and Ukraine, the kremlin continues to spread disinformation narratives aimed at undermining Ukraine's statehood and legitimacy, as well as at promoting favourable conditions. In particular, russian propaganda claims that Ukraine's fate will be determined without Ukraine, and that the state will soon cease to exist and become a ‘colony’ of Britain or the United States. We should all be prepared for the fact that there will be ‘tonnes’ of disinformation on this topic in the infospace, and we should be attentive to the details voiced by officials.

The narrative that some Ukrainian lands have already become a ‘currency’ between the US and russia is also being spread on this topic. kremlin propaganda claims that the new administration in Washington is ready to exchange the occupied Ukrainian territories for a deal that will satisfy putin and resolve the disputed issues. At the same time, pseudo-journalists and bloggers refer to a recent interview with Mike Waltz (Trump's future national security adviser). When asked what is a realistic plan to end the war as soon as possible, Waltz replied (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzqvsvakywQ):
"We would love to see a ceasefire anytime, any day. It would be an incredibly positive first step for both sides. It would allow us to move towards some type of framework agreement to resolve the conflict. Everybody understands that this has to be done diplomatically. It is unrealistic to say that all Russians can be kicked out of every inch of Ukrainian territory, including Crimea. President Trump recognised this reality, and it was a huge step forward. Now let's go further. How do we bring this conflict to an end and prevent it from escalating to the proportions of a world war? We are already seeing North Korea and other countries taking action. We have to stop it."
Waltz also said that it was necessary to stabilise the frontline before negotiations, but he did not mention any territory as an object of negotiations.
The Zelenskyy administration and the president himself have repeatedly emphasised that Ukrainians are not ready to give up their legitimate territories to the aggressor and will never recognise them as russian. Zelenskyy believes that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire only with real security guarantees: "The occupied territories can be returned diplomatically if all allies put real pressure on the kremlin. In any case, we need a fair accountability for those who came to our land, killed tens of thousands of innocent people and destroyed hundreds of cities."
Russianfake calls on everyone to be attentive and critical of all publications on the topic of ‘peace talks’ and not to spread unverified information.
