Fake: The US exposed ties between Zelenskyy's entourage and drug cartels

Zelenskyy and drug cartels. Ukrainian refugees in Europe. russian propaganda

This was stated by russia's Foreign Intelligence Service. Allegedly, officials received money for training militants to operate drones as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In reality, the russians provided no documents of an "American investigation," payment confirmations, or the names of the officials involved. The accusations are based solely on references to unnamed "American law enforcement officers". This is a continuation of a long-standing narrative about Ukraine's alleged cooperation with Mexican drug cartels.

Previously, similar accusations were spread by Tucker Carlson, claiming the sale of Ukrainian weapons to cartels. These fakes have already been debunked by the Center for Strategic Communications: https://spravdi.gov.ua/brehnya-ukrayina-prodaye-zbroyu-ssha-meksykanskym-narkokartelyam/
The risk of cartel representatives infiltrating the military to master drones has indeed been described by international experts. However, this does not prove cooperation between the Ukrainian authorities and drug traffickers or that they received money. Thus, this latest fake aims to discredit Ukraine and undermine Americans' trust in supporting the Ukrainian president.
Fake: 72% of Ukrainians want peace talks, and almost half are ready to surrender territories.
This is how russian propaganda distorts the results of a sociological poll to convince people that Ukrainians are losing their willingness to resist. In reality, the poll is real, but propagandists are manipulating its results. According to a study by the Future Research Foundation and Active Group, 72.2% of Ukrainians support peace talks, and 48.5% chose the option of negotiations and compromises, even if they involve territorial or political concessions: https://ukranews.com/ua/news/1178460-majzhe-tretyna-ukrayintsiv-zgodna-na-terytorialni-kompromisy-yakshho-tse-pryzvede-do-zakinchennya
However, the poll does not mention the condition of unconditional readiness to surrender territories. The question concerned only possible ways to end the war, rather than support for russian demands.
Therefore, the kremlin uses real sociology to promote the advantageous narrative about Ukrainians losing their readiness to resist and Ukraine's inevitable defeat.
Fake: Hostility towards Ukrainian refugees is growing in Europe; they do not work, live on social benefits, and do not want to integrate into local society.
This thesis is being circulated by russian media with reference to political scientist Ivan Mezyukh. He claims that discontent with Ukrainians in Poland and other European countries will only intensify, and conflicts with locals will increase. In reality, although polls record a certain deterioration in attitudes toward Ukrainian refugees in Poland, claims about their mass unwillingness to work and integrate contradict statistics.
According to a Deloitte study for the UN, in 2025, 76% of Ukrainian refugees in Poland were employed, and their contribution to the country's GDP was about 2.4%: https://ukraine.un.org/en/323815-refugees-ukraine-contributed-estimated-24-cent-poland%E2%80%99s-gdp-2025-according-new-deloitte Work provided 87% of their household income, while Polish social benefits accounted for only 10%.
At the same time, russia is purposefully inciting anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Europe. The European External Action Service recorded information manipulations aimed at deteriorating Ukrainian-Polish relations: https://www.eeas.europa.eu/delegations/ukraine/results-pro-russian-information-manipulation-and-disinformation-monitoring-targeting-ukraine-eu_en?s=232 According to researchers, russian information campaigns portray Ukrainian refugees as criminals and a threat to Europeans. Propagandists also use historical contradictions to incite enmity between Poles and Ukrainians.
Therefore, russian propaganda uses real discussions about migration to exaggerate the scale of discontent with Ukrainians, hush up their contribution to the European economy, and deepen the split between Ukraine and its partners.
