russian fake news. missiles attack kyiv. UN humanitarian mission. russian army
This is reported by the russian media. In fact, this is a classic example of russian disinformation, which is trying to shift the responsibility for the strikes on civilians onto Ukraine itself.
The fact of shelling by the kremlin's terrorist army has been confirmed. Strikes on Ukrainian cities are recorded by Ukrainian services, international partners, satellite data and independent media. The consequences of the attacks are real destruction, civilian casualties and the work of rescuers, which cannot be "staged" on such a scale.
The thesis of "self-detonation" is absurd from a technical point of view.Missile strikes have characteristic traces of damage: the type of destruction, the direction of the blast wave, and missile fragments. This is recorded by experts and investigators. It is impossible to imitate this by "planting explosives" in a residential building without a complete discrepancy with the real physical signs.
Manipulation by "repeating footage".russian propaganda regularly claims that new photos are "similar to the old ones". In fact, this is a typical appearance of the consequences of missile strikes on residential buildings – that's why they look similar.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that, according to preliminary data, the building was hit by an X-101 missile, manufactured in the second quarter of this year. The Kh-101 missile, identical to the one that hit a residential building in Kyiv on 20 January. It contains chips from American brands such as Texas Instruments, AMD and Kyocera AVX, as well as from the German Harting Technology Group and the Dutch Nexperia. This means that russia continues to receive Western components of military significance, even despite the sanctions. And this is proof that the sanctions and legal pressure on the aggressor and its accomplices are not enough.
The impact of just this missile in Kyiv resulted in 24 deaths, including three children, and 48 injuries, including two children. During 13-14 May, the russians launched about 1,567 drones and 56 missiles at Ukraine, killing dozens and injuring hundreds of civilians. According to the UN Monitoring Mission, in the first three months of 2026 alone, 566 civilians were killed and 2,731 people were injured as a result of attacks by russian terrorists. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the recent massive attacks by russia on Ukraine indicate the kremlin's unwillingness to engage in peace negotiations: "The most extensive Russian attacks on Ukraine in recent times show that Moscow is betting on escalation, not negotiations" (https://x.com/bundeskanzler/status/2054968353983226243).
In addition, on 14 May, russian FPV drones attacked the vehicles of the UN humanitarian mission in Kherson. Another war crime by putin's criminal regime. The attack on the UN vehicles was deliberate: the russian FPV drone operators could not have failed to see the markings on the special vehicles, as these weapons are controlled in real time with a clear video image.
The actions of russian terrorists are aimed at creating unbearable living conditions in the frontline territories. russia uses its status as a permanent member of the UN Security Council to avoid responsibility for its own crimes, while demonstrating disregard for the Charter of the Organisation and the norms of international law. The attack on the UN humanitarian convoy is part of the tactics of russian terror.
russians regularly attack passenger transport, rescuers, emergency medical personnel, utility workers, and other civilians with drones.Public condemnation of russian crimes is important, but it will not force the kremlin to stop them. Ukraine calls on the world community to increase real pressure on the kremlin, including prosecution for war crimes, international isolation, additional tougher sanctions, and greater support for Ukrainians.
