The kremlin media disseminate information that Denmark allegedly asked Ukraine to return 680 million euros received as military assistance. Such a request allegedly was voiced by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen amid statements by US President Donald Trump about possible seizure of Greenland. But in fact, it’s a fake russian factory. Like the “news” about the cancellation of the speech of the President of Ukraine at the economic forum in Davos.

Russian media outlets Mette Frederiksen quote: "We are forced to admit that we were really bad with this help, weakening our defense capability. It was a support fever. It will be correct if the Ukrainian government returns at least part. This will not be too painful for Kyiv, but will give us confidence."
Any details about when and where the Prime Minister of Denmark said this phrase, the kremlin propagandists, of course, do not give. StopFake has studied all public statements by Frederiksen over the past few months and found no mention that Ukraine was asked to “return money”. The official website of the Danish government, where Frederiksen statements are published, also does not contain such statements. Denmark systematically continues to provide military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. In February 2024, Denmark and Ukraine signed a long-term cooperation agreement on security and long-term support (total EUR 8.5 billion in 2023-2028). There is no information about Denmark’s intentions to terminate this agreement on official resources of the government.
The Osavul monitoring platform recorded that for the first time the fake quote of Danish Prime Minister Matte Frederiksen was published on January 6, 2026 in the satirical russian Telegram channel "and the waters of my Yandex Kosheliok"", after which it was distributed even on the state media kremlin.
Another fresh fake: Zelenskyy's performance in Davos was cancelled by the organizers of the Forum.
Pro-kremlin media spread disinformation about the delegation of Ukraine, which participates in the annual World Economic Forum in Swiss Davos. russians claim that the organizers of the forum supposedly cancelled the speech of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. After that, the Ukrainian leader allegedly “refused the trip” to the forum. “The head of the Kyiv regime was called an obstacle to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict,” the propagandists write.
True: in Switzerland on January 19-23, 2026, the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) takes place. The event will unite almost 3000 politicians, diplomats, business and science representatives from over 130 countries. However, in the morning of January 20, it became known that against the background of the next massive massive missile and drones attacks of the russian terrorist army on critical infrastructure and terrible consequences (destroyed objects of electricity, heating, gas, water – and this at a temperature of 15-20 degrees frost), Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to temporarily postpone his trip to Davos to coordinate the solution of the emergency. At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that the situation could change rapidly and he does not exclude the possibility of traveling to Davos.
Already the next day it became known that Zelenskyy will come to Davos for a meeting with the President of the United States. Eventually, Zelenskyy spoke at the forum on January 22, although his speech was not announced in advance.
